Lupenga Mphande

Lupenga Mphande, Associate Professor of African and African American Studies at Ohio State University, in Colombus, is among Malawi’s leading poets and writers. A prize-winning poet, he has published A Crackle at Midnight (1998) a volume of poems and contributed poems to such regional and continental anthologies as When My Brothers Come Home: Poems from Central and Southern Africa (1985), The Heinemann Book of African Poetry in English (1991), Bending the Bow: An Anthology of African Love Poetry (2009) as well as The Kenyon Review, Poetry Review, Poetry International, and many other journals. He lives outside Columbus with his family.
